The English Program in Korea, also known as the EPIK program, is a valuable career opportunity for those individuals who are seeking a personal, professional and educational experience in Korea. As a government program developed and administered by the Korean Ministry of Education, EPIK invites native English speaking teachers to encourage cross cultural exchanges while strengthening foreign language education in public schools. Since the inception of the program in 1995, over ten thousand guest English teachers have successfully completed their duties, gained professional experiences that offered not only career fulfillment but personal enrichment and returned home as cultural ambassadors. Eligibility Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language According to E2 visa law, EPIK teachers should have citizenship from one of the following countries : Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States or South Africa. Must have studied from the junior high level (7th Grade) and graduated from a university in one of the seven designated countries listed above. Ethnic Koreans with legal residency in a country where English is the primary language can apply, but must provide proof of English education beginning from the junior high school level.
