Univera's Senior Accountant performs multiple duties related to the Accounting functions of the organization within established deadlines. Inputs, reviews, communicates, and performs analysis of financial data based on generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Recommends to management best practice updates to accounting policies related to assigned duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts; Payables, Tax, Deferred Revenue, Intercompany A/P & A/R and other accounts as assigned.
- Serve as supervisor to Accounts Payable Associate; Monitor and oversee day to day work providing needed support or share in A/P and A/R duties as needed.
- Oversee Sales & Use tax preparation, audit third party calculation results and lead all state and local Sales and Use tax audits.
- Prepare Monthly Journal Entries for assigned responsibilities as required
- Assist in month end U.S. financial statement review and adjusting JE’s.
- Assist with annual external audit. Complete related PBC schedules and provide requested field work materials.
- Work under minimal supervision with latitude for independent judgement
- Maintain accurate accounting records and reports in both SAP ERP system and hardcopy files in an efficient and organized manner
- Provide back-up to other accounting staff and cross-train in other accounting areas/activities, as necessary and perform other miscellaneous duties as required
- Follow internal policies and procedures. Recommend, develop and implement updates related to assigned duties through thorough analysis and best practice research
- SAP(ERP) experience is preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors’ Degree in accounting and at least five years’ experience in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Adept in analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required
- Proficient in MS Office, largely in Excel, and MS Outlook
- Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP Business One preferred
- Ability to function in a team oriented environment
