Account Manager
Iljin USA Corporation, Global manufacturer for automotive components and supplier to many of the world's largest companies. Currently seeking a Bilingual (Korean/English) Sales Account Manager who is responsible to market and create new opportunities with new and existing customers, as well as, to provide account maintenance and increase profitability with existing customers.
Responsibilities included, but are not limited to:
- Serve as primary customer contact and respond to customer inquiries.
- Assess customer¡¯s needs and communicate them regularly to supervisor/management.
- Receive and respond to customer requests for quotation via the quotation process business standard.
- Conduct contract review upon receipt of customer purchase orders and contracts via the contract review department standard.
- Communicate the award of new business contracts with appropriate team members via the new business notification department standard.
- Coordinate engineering support to the customer.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Maintain knowledge of customer including current personnel, policies, procedures and systems.
- Manage all open commercial issues with customer.
- Visit customers to demonstrate and present product and company capabilities. Develop and update customer¡¯s knowledge of the product(s).
- Proactively develop new business with new and existing customers and also as directed by supervisor/manager.
- Assist in maintaining current/existing business relationships.
- Address customer inquiries/concerns regarding shipping and/or quality issues.
- Interface with accounting department when necessary.
- Assist in the maintenance of the annual and mid-term or other budgets to support overall business plan.
- Procure and supply market data to support costing and pricing activities.
- Negotiate pricing, cost reductions, payment terms and trade terms with customer.
- Maintain regular customer interface through email communications and visitations.
- Target specific programs and products based on our capabilities and the customer¡¯s business plan.
- Proactively engage in activities necessary to meet annual company and department goals and objectives.
- Provide reports of activities, as needed, to supervisor/manager.
- Other miscellaneous and various jobs/projects as directed by supervisor.
- Compile monthly acquisition reports.
- Assist in evaluating internal cost calculations.
- Communicate & effectively manage cross functional teams to meet customer and corporate goals.
- Coordinate activities and communicate effectively with parent company in South Korea.
Competencies and Characteristics:
- Bilingual English and Korean communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Experience preparing customer quotes and contracts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for both English and Korean.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Motivated & detail oriented.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Availability for occasional travel
- Must have flexibility to work non-standard work week when required.
- Proficient using MS Office.
- Strict adherence to company policies, procedures and standards is required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor¡¯s degree
- Min. 5 years equivalent experience in automotive sales/account management role.
- Experience calling on automotive OEM, Tier 1, & 2 customers
