캘리포니아 주지사 개빈 뉴섬은 5월 18일 월요일 코로나 바이러스의 심각성이 감소하고 있으며 주정부는 재택 명령을 완화할 준비가 되어 있다고 밝혔다.

 

주지사는 6월에 관중 없이 스포츠 행사를 재개할 수 있다고 제안했으며 사람들은 몇 주 안에 소규모 교회 모임에 참석하고 미용실을 방문할 수 있을 거라고 말했다.

 

이러한 활동은 뉴섬의 4단계 재개방 계획의 3단계에 해당한다. 이 다음 단계로 넘어가기 위한 일정을 제공하지 않았지만 “몇 달이 아니라 몇 주”일 것이라며 6월 초일 것으로 보인다.

 

각 카운티는 3단계로 전환하기 위한 승인을 신청할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되며 그 후 뉴섬은 모든 카운티에게 3단계로 전활 할 수 있는 주 전체 명령을 발행할 예정이다.

 

뉴섬은 과학과 데이터를 기반으로 4단계 계획으로 주 경제를 재개하고 있다. 현재 캘리포니아는 1단계 (필수 근로자를 제외한 모든 거주자가 집에 머무는 단계)에서 2단계(코로나19의 확산 위험이 낮은 사업체 재개)로 전환하고 있다. 헬스장과 미용실 재개는 3단계에 해당하고 4단계에서는 콘서트장과 컨벤션 센터에서의 대규모 모임이 재개된다.

 

뉴섬은 재택근무가 불가능한 커브 사이드 픽업 소매업체 및 사무실 공간을 포함하여 주 전체에 걸쳐 재개 허가를 부여했으며, 대부분의 카운티는 이러한 수정 사항을 행정명령에 도입했다.

 

뉴섬은 캘리포니아 주에서 입원율 7.5% 감소와 2주간 집중치료 환자 수 8.7% 감소 등 상황이 개선되고 있다고 밝혔다. 주정부는 현재 재고 상태에 있는 테스트 및 접촉 추적 및 5,610만 마스크의 증가로 2개월 전보다 더 나은 상황에 있다고 한다.

Newsom suggests Calif. could move into Stage 3 in June: Here's what that means

 

California Gov. Gavin Newsom shared data Monday revealing that the severity of the coronavirus pandemic is declining and the state is ready to further relax the stay-at-home order.

 

The governor suggested sporting events without spectators may resume as early as June and people could be attending small church meetings and visiting hair salons in a few weeks.

 

These activities fall into Stage 3 of Newsom's four-phase reopening plan and, while he didn't provide a timeline for a jump into this next phase, he said multiple times "it's weeks, not months away," which suggests early June.

 

Counties will initially be given the opportunity to apply for approval to transition into Stage 3 and then Newsom will issue a statewide order offering the opportunity to all counties.

 

Newsom is reopening the state's economy on a four-stage plan that's based on science and data and promotes social distancing. The state is currently moving from Stage 1, with all residents except essential workers staying at home, into Stage 2, when businesses with a lower risk of spreading COVID-19 will reopen. Gyms and hair salons fall into Stage 3, and large gatherings at concert venues and convention centers in Stage 4.

 

Newsom has given several sectors statewide permission to open, including curbside-pickup retail and office spaces where teleworking isn't possible, and most counties have introduced these modifications to their orders.

 

Newsom said several indicators reveal the situation is improving in California, including a 7.5% decline in hospitalizations and a 8.7% decline in the number of patients in intensive care across two weeks.

 

What’s more, the state is better prepared than it was two months ago with increases in testing and contact tracing and 56.1 million masks currently in the state inventory.
